Akbank has become one of the few institutions in the world to achieve the highest possible ‘A’ score in three different categories namely; “Climate Change”, “Water Security”, and “Forests” as assessed by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), one of the world’s most respected environmental reporting platforms. This achievement once again confirms the strong performance and transparency of the Bank’s sustainability efforts across its entire ecosystem, in line with its net-zero banking commitment.
In his statement, Akbank CEO Kaan Gür said: “At Akbank, we approach sustainability as a strategic transformation area that encompasses our entire ecosystem. Accordingly, we manage strategy, risk management, targets, and performance through a holistic framework. With the comprehensive range of sustainability solutions we offer across all segments, we enable our customers to achieve their goals while creating measurable and lasting impact. Being one of the few institutions globally to receive CDP’s highest ‘A’ rating in Climate Change, Water Security, and Forests demonstrates that our high performance in this field has been recognised at an international level. We will continue to strengthen our globally aligned approach and advance our efforts.”

Transparency aligned with global standards
CDP is among the world’s leading global platforms, providing investors and stakeholders with transparent and comparable assessments of organisations’ performance in managing climate change, water management, and deforestation risks. Achieving an ‘A’ rating across three categories demonstrates that institutions are implementing their policies and commitments, governance structures, risk management approaches, and concrete actions at the highest possible level.
