Customer-led growth with disciplined risk adjusted returns
Akbank strategically repositions the asset mix, focusing on enhancing risk-adjusted returns.
The share of TL loans in total TL assets has increased by 8 pp since 2024, reaching 60% as of 3Q26.
Alongside the increase in loans-to-assets ratio, Akbank continued to strategically rebalance loan portfolio towards business lending, in line with its three-year strategic plan outlined at the beginning of the year.
Overall, this strategic rebalancing is expected to enhance asset yields and strengthen earnings potential going forward.
NIM set for gradual recovery as TL funding pressure eases
Akbank’s cumulative 9 month NIM improved by 30 bps, compared to 2025.
The recovery has been more gradual than initially anticipated, primarily due to funding cost volatility and a slower-than-expected pace of monetary easing.
3Q26 marked the trough in NIM while the weekly NIM has shown a strong rebound since the end of September, benefiting from easing TL funding pressure.

Operating expenses increased by 35% YoY in 9M26, moderating compared to first half of the year, reflecting cost discipline.
Disciplined underwriting anchors solid asset quality
Akbank’s disciplined underwriting standards and selective lending approach have enabled it to maintain a solid asset quality profile.
Akbank’s NPL market share remains below its respective loan market share across all segments.
NPL market share among private banks has further declined by 210 bps YTD, carrying cumulative decline since the beginning of last year to 470 bps.
Prudent risk management underpinned by strong coverage ratios
Strong coverage buffers provide additional protection against potential credit deterioration, reinforcing Akbank’s ability to manage evolving asset quality risks.
Share of combined Stage 2 and Stage 3 loans remain limited at 11.9% of total gross loans, while restructured loans remain contained at 3.9%.
Cost of credit stood at 189 bps in 9M26, reflecting proactive risk management and provisioning approach.
Strong capital position provides strategic flexibility
Strong capital base remains a key strategic advantage, providing flexibility to navigate market cycles and selectively capture growth opportunities.
