Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB):
o COVID-19 Crisis Recovery Facility (“CRF”) Financings to address liquidity constraints for clients in infrastructure and other productive sectors. This could help address liquidity constraints and maintain critical long-term investments that may have to be curtailed, delayed or suspended in the absence of AIIB financing.
o Sustainable Tier 2 Bond issuance with AIIB to finance renewable energy projects in Türkiye.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Policy on the Project-Affected People’s Mechanism (PPM) is applicable for the projects that Akbank will finance under the CRF loan and sustainable bond issuance. Project-affected people may raise their concerns regarding the environmental and social aspects of an AIIB-financed Project with Akbank External Communications Mechanism and AIIB management. If the concerns cannot be addressed satisfactorily, you are welcome to submit your concerns to the PPM. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD):
o TurAFF (Turkey Private Sector Agricultural Financing Facility) - an on-lending facility to two priority categories of clients: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) operating in the agribusiness sectors; SMEs and households for investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
o TurSEFF (Turkey Private Sector Sustainable Energy Finance Facility) - an on-lending to businesses and households on financing energy efficiency and small-scale renewable energy investments, including geothermal, solar, biomass and biogas, implemented by Turkish businesses and households, help cut their carbon footprint by reducing energy wastage.
o MidSEFF (Mid-Size Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) - an on-lending facility to private sector borrowers for renewable energy and resource efficiency investments over participating financial institutions.
o Resilience Framework - a key pillar of EBRD’s Solidarity Package - increases the availability of short-term financing predominantly to SMEs in Turkey facing liquidity stress due to the Covid-19 crisis.
o TurWIB (Turkey Women in Business) - financing for supporting women entrepreneurship and women-led SMEs.
European Investment Bank (EIB):
o GAGF (Greater Anatolia Guarantee Fund Facility) financing which targeted Turkey’s least developed regions and financing SMEs through guarantees.
o Global Loan financing of small and medium scale productive investments across Turkey enhancing the prospects for economic growth and employment in Turkey through the provision of long-term financing to the SME sector.
o MidCAP financing dedicated to the financing of SMEs and MidCaps in Turkey.
o SME Recovery financing to enhance the prospects for economic growth and employment in Turkey through the provision of long-term financing for small/medium scale projects undertaken by small and medium sized enterprises or local authorities.
o PPP design, construction, financing, equipment supply, provision of soft and hard facility management services and provision of some clinical support services under Etlik Hospital, Ankara.
Export-Import Bank of Korea (Kexim) Loan: Long-term facility provided to promote Korean exports to Turkey. This loan facilitates the financing of exports of goods and services from Korean suppliers to Turkish purchasers and Korea related companies’ required capital for their business in Turkey.
Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China Loan: A relending facility provided to the borrowers that import consumer and on- consumer goods from Taiwan.
International Finance Corporation (IFC):
o ESMS (Environmental and Social Management System): Financing for entire Micro and SME portfolio of Akbank under IFC’s ESMS
o Covered Bond: Financing to help boost the residential mortgage sector, including the development of green buildings. Part of the proceeds from the covered bond issuance is used to extend mortgages to finance residential properties in Turkey which are compliant with green buildings standards as evidenced by “BEP-TR "A" energy label or “BEP-TR "B" energy label; CEDBIK, LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, EDGE and other equivalent certificates.
o Refugee Impacted Area Loan
o Sustainable Tier 2 Bond issuance with IFC to finance SME loans and specifically women owned SMEs and energy efficiency projects under the Bank’s sustainable finance framework.
Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KFW): Financing long-term investments in fixed assets (investment costs) and for working capital for SMEs as well as farmers and rural businesses.
U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC - OPIC):
o Financing for renewable energy and energy efficiency loans.
o Gender Bond issuance with DFC use of proceeds focus on extending consumer finance loans to women and women-owned small businesses in underdeveloped cities in Türkiye.
